ADMISSION TO HERITAGE SCHOOLS

Overview

At The Heritage School, we seek to create a diverse learning community that welcomes students who bring a full range of gifts and experiences that represent the diversity of the human spectrum, including ethnicity, religion, nationality, culture and community. We also recognise that we must be equipped and prepared to support each of our students individually as well as all of our students collectively, to achieve their full potential in this environment and within the vision and mission of this particular learning community, which is designed to be inclusive.

Our admission process is guided by the following policies:

  • We believe it is important for parents to understand and embrace our vision and mission, including our Dharmic Principles and our instructional practices, which are holistic and experiential by design
  • We therefore focus on engaging with parents so that they can make a conscious choice.
  • As we have limited seats available, we have adopted a fair and transparent process designed to admit students in our foundation (Nursery School) class
  • We follow Right To Education provisions, CBSE and CBSE I requirements for admission

Our admission process is guided by the following policies:

  • Students who transfer to our school from KG through grade XI should expect to go through a process whereby we observe and interact with them and with their parents, in order to make the best possible decision regarding placement and support.
  • We reserve the right to prioritise admission, particularly of students who are already matriculating at another school in the community, on the basis of best fit.

Our admission process is guided by the following policies:

  • Parents are expected to make a good faith disclosure of any suspected or identified special needs when they apply for admissions, to ensure that we can take these needs into account either in the regular classroom or with support for special needs.

Nursery

Announcements for admission to Nursery are made through the school website and advertisements in leading newspapers. Only children who are three-and-a-half years old on April 1 of the year they are seek admission in are considered age-eligible for application to Nursery.

The school reserves seats for the Economically Weaker Section/disadvantaged students as per the guidelines of the government. Seats are also available for transfer cases. The school grants admission based on a point system. Please note that admissions for the academic year 2015-16 are now closed.

Kindergarten to Class XI

Students are admitted through the year depending on the vacancies arising in a given class. Preference is given to siblings, transfer cases and those on the waiting list. Application for admissions from KG - XI is open for the academic session 2015-16.
