Today, change is our constant companion. The last few decades have seen a sea change in the dynamics of workplace and personal relationships. Workplaces now demand out-of-the-box thinkers and innovators, change managers and leaders who can leverage the strength of the team. We have seen the vocabulary for success needed in organisations and relationships changedrastically over time.
However, our current system of education has let our childrendown. The Heritage School, established in 2004,isan attempt to address the dissatisfaction that we all feel with the traditional rote-based learning and its limitations. Heritage represents hope and embraces the path shown by experiential learning for success in workplaces and relationships.
At Heritage, we pride ourselves in the culture of relevance, relationships and reality-driven rigor. These three Rs, the cornerstone of experiential learning, build the skills required by students to succeed in the real world and create authentic learning opportunities for the students.
The impact of this learning can be seen not merely in the tangible results it creates, but also in shaping students’ personalities and skill development – reflection, analysis, critical thinking and accountability. The role of the teacher is also of a ‘learner’ on this journey as the process is as important as the outcome, as the curriculum unit is not a neatly labelled package.
Our constant endeavour is to help children develop to their full and true potential. We believe in inducting individuals into the community and workplace who have the power to think, courage to innovate, find a ‘voice’ which is unique but also in tune with good citizenship.
We are proud of the quality of education we impart at the three Heritage Schools in Gurgaon, Vasant Kunj and Rohini. We are, and will always continue to be, committed to shaping the young minds that are our responsibility so that they can become successful, responsible and proud citizens of India.
Mr. Jain is the Founding Father and mentor of the Heritage Managing Committee.
